A Different Approach to:

Thyroid Artery Embolization (TAE)

Pressure-Enabled Delivery for Thyroid Artery Embolization (PED-TAE) uses TriNav technology to deliver embolic material through the inferior thyroid arteries (ITAs) to treat targeted areas of the thyroid. Traditional thyroid artery embolization often requires treating the thyroid through three or four different blood vessels, including both superior thyroid arteries (STAs). Accessing these vessels typically involves navigating through the carotid arteries, which can add complexity and potential risk to the procedure. PED-TAE takes a different approach. Instead of directly accessing the superior thyroid arteries, it uses the thyroid’s natural network of connecting blood vessels (collateral circulation). This allows treatment of portions of the superior thyroid artery territory through the inferior thyroid arteries alone.

By avoiding direct carotid artery access, PED-TAE may simplify the procedure and may reduce procedural risk while maintaining the effectiveness of targeted thyroid embolization.

TriNav Infusion Systems are intended for use in angiographic procedures. They deliver radiopaque media and therapeutic agents to selected sites in the peripheral vascular system.

Contraindications

TriNav Infusion Systems are not intended for use in the vasculature of the central nervous system (including the neurovasculature) or central circulatory system (including the coronary vasculature).
